Internship in Media Research

House of Research offers the opportunity to complete a paid internship in communication and media research. For up to three months – or even longer in the case of mandatory internships – interns assist and increasingly work independently in all areas and thus get to know the working practices and methods of a modern research institute.

Our clients include media companies as well as federal and state ministries, NGOs, associations and more. Thematically, we deal, for example, with media content analysis, market studies, evaluations, topics of health communication and tourism research. We use qualitative and quantitative methods of empirical research.

Clients include: the Goethe-Institute, the Federal Centre for Health Education, the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media (BKM), the Senate Department for Economic Affairs, Energy and Operations of the State of Berlin, Deutschlandfunk, Diakonie, the German Nutrition Society, the Clubcommission Berlin, the Initiative Music, the Landesanstalt für Kommunikation Baden-Württemberg (LFK) and many more.

Responsabilities

  • Collaboration in the organization of field work
  • Support for current research projects
  • Participation in study conception and questionnaire development
  • Conducting content analyses
  • Data collection and analysis
  • Desktop research

The tasks and responsibilities are adapted according to previous knowledge and areas of interest. We are open to individual arrangements (e.g. part-time internships) to ensure compatibility with your studies.

Requirements

  • Studies in journalism/communication/media sciences, sociology, business administration/economics or related fields
  • Interest in applied media/communication research as well as empirical methods and statistics
  • Good knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) expected, statistical software (i. e. SPSS) desirable
