Discrimination and awareness in Berlin clubs

In cooperation with the Clubcommission, an association with over 320 members from the club and event industry in Berlin, and the psychologist Zeynep Demir, research assistant at the Socialization Institute for Interdisciplinary Research at Bielefeld University, House of Research investigated the club scene in Berlin.

Central research interests were:

  • Status quo and perception of diversity in the club scene
  • Experiences with different forms of own or observed discrimination
  • Evaluation of diversity and anti-discrimination measures
  • Assessment of various awareness programs
  • Perceived safety and well-being in Berlin clubs

Almost 4,400 guests and employees took part in the study, a publication is being planned.
