Accompanying Evaluation of the Pilot Project “Trau dich! MitReden. MitMachen. MitSicherheit.”

Since December 2024, House of Research has been conducting an evaluation of the pilot project “Trau dich! MitReden. MitMachen. MitSicherheit.” on behalf of the Federal Institute for Public Health (BIÖG, formerly the Federal Centre for Health Education – BZgA).
The project aims to strengthen school-based safeguarding policies for the prevention of sexualized violence against children and adolescents – with a particular focus on participation as a core principle.

The pilot project is being implemented at several schools across three federal states and includes:

  • an advanced training course for school staff to promote participatory practices,
  • a station-based participatory event for students in grades 5 and 6,
  • and a networking event to foster cooperation within schools and with external support services.

House of Research is supporting the pilot project with a mixed-methods approach, comprising:

  • document analysis and in-depth engagement with the three project components, including systematic evaluation of implementation data – in coordination with the project’s implementing agency,
  • the development, programming, and analysis of an online feedback questionnaire, featuring differentiated filter logic for various target groups,
  • the design, facilitation, and evaluation of qualitative online focus groups involving school stakeholders and professionals from relevant fields.

The evaluation runs concurrently with project implementation, providing continuous, practice-oriented feedback. In doing so, it actively contributes to the ongoing refinement and quality development of the measures.Referenz-Fließtext
