Diversity, discrimination, awareness: online study on the Berlin club scene

In partnership with Clubcommission, an association comprising over 320 members from the Berlin club and event industry, and psychologist Zeynep Demir, a research assistant at the Socialisation Institute for Interdisciplinary Research at Bielefeld University, House of Research conducted an in-depth investigation into the club scene in Berlin. The central research interests were:

  • Status quo and perception of diversity in the club scene
  • Experiences with different forms of own or observed discrimination
  • Evaluation of diversity and anti-discrimination measures
  • Assessment of various awareness programmes
  • Perceived safety and well-being in Berlin clubs

A total of around 4,400 guests and employees completed the survey.
