Dirk Martens has studied political science at the Freie Universität Berlin, and then worked as a project manager at Ipsos Germany (formerly GFM-Getas), Forsa and Trend Research. He operated in the fields of empirical social research, marketing, and media research dealing with quantitative and qualitative methods. As the manager of Research and Marketing Services at the radio marketing enterprise Target Radio in Hamburg, he has deepened his knowledge about media research.
Together with Cetin Yaman, program manager of OK Radio formerly, he has established YMO-Yaman & Martens Operations, an enterprise for media research and media consulting in 1998, which has also produced radio syndication broadcasts.
In 2000, House of Research GmbH was founded as an institute for media and marketing research in Hamburg by shareholder Martens who still manages the company today.
He has high experience in quantitative methods such as CATI-representative surveys, B-to-B studies, online questionnaire, multivariate analysis in statistics and qualitative methods such as group discussions and expert surveys.
Dirk Martens is a member of BVM (Berufsverband deutscher Markt- und Sozialforscher e.V.), of ESOMAR (European Society for Opinion and Marketing Research) and of media.net berlinbrandenburg e.V.
